Taking Action

Every member of our community has skills, talents and resources that can help us take action. We have a list of work that is going on now, or planned for future. Please do what you can, now, and let us know if you have other ways of contributing

Attend/Advertise our public meeting

We are meeting in Cuminestown Hall on the 30th of April to summarise the situation and plan how the community would like to respond. We have a series of actions to take now, but should this fight get longer, we need to know what type of action the community would be willing to take.

Sign the Letters

We are drafting and sending a set of letters to the council about the cuts, the consultations and what we as a community are going to do. In addition to community group leaders, we appreciate any members of our community who will co-sign these letters before we send them in.

Submit your testimonial

Too many decisions are being made based on pounds and pence rather than the impact on peoples’ lives. We are collecting testimonials of how our community have been impacted by these services, and how the cuts /threats to cuts to our services are harming residents of our area. You can submit your testimonial in person at our meeting, hand over a written copy at Cumrye or submit a copy here: https://monquhitter.co.uk/?page_id=42

Volunteer

We are looking at other actions that might need to be taken including, but not limited to community asset transfer of the buildings and services. If you are interested in keeping up with these projects, or might be able to help, please give us your contact details in the form below or at our meeting. Your details will be accessible by the administrators/editors of this website (currently the Chair of the FRMCC and the Secretary of the Monquhitter Amenities) and used only to contact you regarding the community issues we are discussing now.

Contact our representatives

Let our elected representatives know that you are unhappy about the closure of Cumrye and the fact that the Health Centre is still closed – or any other cuts that have happened to our community. Try to include all of the different parties – as they have different powers and agendas. Be sure to include your postcode in any email so they know you are from their constituency.
